About the Project:
Client: REST Fest
Year: 2017
REST Fest is an annual tech conference in Greenville, SC. Over four days, conference attendees descend on Greenville and talk hypermedia, API’s, and the future of the web. As an “un-conference,” RF has an “everyone talks, everyone listens” goal, and no formal itinerary to dictate when each of up to 40 excited attendees will speak. Yes, they build the schedule on-the-fly via a shared wiki, literally while the conference is underway. It’s an incredible organic and collaborative process.

Meanwhile, our team keeps the cameras rolling and remains flexible. We shoot each of the talks from two camera angles, and screen-capture each of the assorted devices they present on. Meanwhile, we grab quick interviews and b-roll of the group for an updated promo video. In the days that follow, we do a multi-cam edit of every single presentation, make accompanying thumbnails, and upload to REST Fest’s incredible, growing Vimeo archive. Promo video edited by Trey Morrow.

“Aaron and his team have navigated our shifting schedule and various locations with skill. The high quality output has reached a wider audience than our local events ever could on their own, and the investment has been well worth the money!” -Ben Young, REST Fest Co-Founder
