Filmmaking Unedited is Moving!
Hey there, loyal readers of “Filmmaking: Unedited!” After seven years, I’m making a big step to combine this blog with my portfolio, putting everything in one place at www.aarondpate.com
In 2011 I started blogging as a way to give back, sharing knowledge and resources. We were in the early stages shooting our independent film, and I wanted to document the journey, archive my discoveries, and store my templates online where other people could benefit. As I progressed in my career, I expanded this blog and relied heavily on this resource repository to support the teaching component of my job, and the guest lectures I gave at other universities. When I started working for myself in 2015 I was hopeful that the blog would expand even further, but as my business grew I found it difficult to maintain both my professional website and the blog; naturally, the blog suffered.
Now, by putting both pieces together, each site benefits from my undivided attention, and my readers and clients can find everything they need in one place! Most of all, I am putting the pressure on myself to deliver more, to share more, to engage more - I can’t ignore the blog if it’s an integral part of my website!
I’d like to thank you for being a friend along the way, and for your engagement. Several of the staple articles and templates on this blog were in direct response to your requests! I’d also like to invite you to join me at www.aarondpate.com/blog, where you’ll find my latest post about legally using music in your videos, and all of the old blog posts you’ve read here. I’ve also brought along all of my most popular resources, gathered under the “freebies” tab - especially those templates and textures! Most importantly, these resources will all remain FREE. As part of the transfer, I will gradually be removing resources from Filmmaking Unedited until the new blog is sufficiently established.
If you want to continue to follow me, I would love to see you subscribe, comment, and share the new blog with everyone you know!
Thank you, and see you on the other side :)
